Red Mountain Lake in Mesa, Arizona, is a 5-acre urban fishery located within Red Mountain Park and managed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department as part of the Community Fishing Program. This compact, well-stocked lake offers year-round fishing for trout, catfish, sunfish, and bass.

Rainbow trout are stocked from fall through early spring and respond well to PowerBait, spinners, and worms. Channel catfish are stocked in warmer months and bite best on stink bait and chicken liver. Bluegill and sunfish are available throughout the summer and are easily caught with mealworms or small jigs. Largemouth bass, present year-round, must be released and are best targeted with soft plastics or small crankbaits.

Fishing is from shore only, with paved trails, accessible piers, and excellent amenities that make it ideal for families, seniors, and beginners. The lake is surrounded by shaded picnic areas, restrooms, and walking paths.

Special Community Fishing Regulations apply, including a two-fish daily limit per species and license requirements for anglers aged 10 and older. No gas-powered boats or swimming is allowed.

Red Mountain Lake combines consistent stocking, ease of access, and a tranquil setting—making it one of the most enjoyable and productive urban fisheries in the Phoenix metro area.
