Because of US National Forest closures in California, parts of the Upper Truckee River are closed for fishing. If it is on forest land, please do not fish in that area. The flows in the Upper Truckee River are currently minimal due to the restoration currently happening. The best flows are below the Boca Reservoir. With cooler nights here, the water temperatures are getting cooler for the fish, but anglers should still try fishing in the mornings or evenings.
