The run-off is slowing down already. The flows are at fish able stages only upstream of the Boca bridge but they are coming down fast. Run-off could be over in a week or two. Be very careful wading downstream of the Boca bridge. Upstream the fishing has been fairly decent. Nymphing with stonefly nymphs and a bead head dropper like a pheasant tail is the way to go. Streamers can also catch a fish or two right now. Flows are; town of Truckee 332CFS, Boca Bridge 670CFS, Farad 857CFS, Reno 737CFS.

Fly fishing has been wide open over the past week. The water temperatures are in the mid 50's and the fish are in shallow water. Nymphing with black maholo midges has been working well. Stripping beetles in shallow water is also catching fish. The fish are in so close right now that they are easily spooked. Do not take your ladder out to far or the fish will get behind you. The nets beaches open again on Sunday the 16th...... Read More
