The catfish has still been very steady throughout the lake and along the shoreline over the past few months on various cut baits with heavy sinkers to manage the winds. Most coves throughout the lake have been hot spots along with the points past the swim beach and along the canal by the entrance booth on chicken liver, jerk baits and swimbaits mainly off of points around the lake in deeper water and around Chumash Island in the morning hours. Bass are biting soft plastics more than lures with the colder conditions, targeting steeper walls and rocky points with senkos, jigs, and roboworms or even nightcrawlers. Some anglers have had luck using crank baits and swimbaits but the soft plastic have been most successful overall.
