Bass have been biting a bit more over the past week or so still up to 40 feet deep still on various soft plastic setups and deep diving jerk baits and crank baits. Roboworms have been working very well off steeper walls and rocky points or senkos either Texas rigged or wacky style have also been producing bite. Jerk baits have been a great way to cover water and come across some active fish in the early hours of the day.

Trout have been caught towards Spanish Point, Bear Trap and Posey Cove using nghtcrawlers and powerbait with a long leader.

Stripers are still bitting mainly cut bait but lugworms and nightcrawlers have also been getting bit throughout the canal by the entrance booth and the points past the swim beach area in deeper water.

Catfish have also been active, biting on mackerel, chicken liver and sardines with a heavy sinker down deep.

Water temperature: 55 degrees

Most anglers have had luck on soft plastic baits such as robo worms and senkos throughout the day to come across bass or using deeper diving baits like crank baits and jerkbaits to cover more water. We had received a small trout plant on Wednesday March 2nd, which have allowed people to catch some trout along the shoreline with...... Read More
