Bass anglers reported good fishing

Pyramid Lake - Sutcliffe, NV (Washoe County)

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake held at over 90 percent of capacity and water conditions are finally looking normal. Bass anglers reported good fishing with some days boarding on excellent. Soft plastics have been the best bet with Senko style baits, Ned rigs, and shaky heads working in 5 to 25 feet of water. Large and smallmouth also chased small swimbaits and crankbaits. Striper anglers trolled umbrella rigs and deep diving jerkbaits for good results. Striper also ate fresh sardines and frozen anchovies from the shore at the swim beach, at Yellowbar, and near Chumash Island. Catfish were a reliable bet last week; they took chicken liver, dip bait and cut baits.
