The weather thus far has been just awesome leading into the opening week of Pyramid Lake. Mid to upper 70’s with nights in 40’s, easy winds, and abundant sunshine. In true Pyramid Lake fashion however, opening day is looking to be on the tail end of a possible small rain event and cold front, with highs in the upper 50’s….then of course returning right away to the fabled early October mild pattern. Only one thing you can do about these weather patterns, just deal with it and fish! Regardless of weather, fish will be hungry, and we will be right there on top of them to meet them. When packing up for opener just make sure to bring appropriate clothing to keep you warm and layer up so you can shed while out on the water. This is the time of year that we are not fishing from shore, so pack right and carry some extra garments with you out on the water to address the conditions. Sunglasses and sunscreen are absolutes….everything else when it comes to comfort is up to you and its up to the fish to reward you with a bite.
