As weeds take over the shorelines, anglers should access the middle of the reservoir with kayaks, float-tubes, etc. for better opportunity. Bass fishing has been good with fish in the 11-13 inch range being caught. Try soft plastics in darker colors with a little sparkle. Catfishing has been fair, with just a few fish in the 3-5 pound range being caught.

Fishing for trout has slowed with the warmer weather, but there is still opportunity to catch fish up to 18″. Target trout in the early mornings and late evenings. Copper johns, pheasant tail nymphs, and gold ripped hare’s ears usually do well. Switch to dry flies or hoppers if the nymph bite is slow. Bait anglers can try a combination of nightcrawlers and PowerBait. Small, flashy spinners like rooster tails and Panther Martins should also work well.
