Stampede Reservoir continues to offer solid fishing for anglers targeting multiple species. Kokanee fishing remains steady, with pink or orange hoochies behind dodgers producing fish 40 to 60 feet deep near the Sagehen and Little Truckee inlets. While kokanee are still running small at around 8 inches, action has been consistent. Rainbow trout anglers are finding success trolling Rapalas, while shore anglers continue to catch fish using worms, PowerBait, and spinners. The smallmouth bass bite has also improved around rocky shorelines and the dam, making Stampede an excellent destination for anglers looking for a variety of fishing opportunities.
