Our local angler, Steve Beasley, landed a nice largemouth bass while fishing from his boat. He was using a jig that usually produces a striper or two.

We have a great largemouth and smallmouth bass population up on Lake Mohave. These fish are considered sport fish, and most anglers practice catch-and-release with them. Anglers go as far as using live wells to keep their fish healthy until they can weigh them in and release them.

The striper bite up on the lake is going well, and now, with no size or possession limit, anglers are having some great catches. Below Davis Dam, the limit is 10 stripers with no size limit. This has a lot to do with the waters we share with California and their fishing regulations.

We're also seeing some great striper fishing from shore, while a few boaters are venturing out. Anchovies are producing the best this time of year, while a few of the larger fish are being landed with various swimbaits.
