Jack H. spotted schools of green sunfish at Woods Canyon Lake:

I was at Woods Canyon last Thursday (Aug. 1.) The lake if FULL of green sunfish, just like the ones @ Willow Springs Lake!! This lake has been pretty "pure" for years. Just thought you would like to know, if you don't already.

Dave H. left Pena Blanca on Saturday, Aug. 3 with a mess of largemouth bass: I fished from sunrise until 10 a.m. Fishing was great although the fish were small. I fished from shore and caught largemouth bass from 8-13 inches. I used mainly home brewed frogs early then switched to a Rapala Original Floating 05 in chartreuse, jerking it just below the surface. I caught around two dozen fish in two hours using this last method.
