The lake has filled nicely and stocking resumed this spring at Cold Creek Reservoir with approximately 8,000 trout, so anglers can expect to catch hatchery size, 8-to-10-inch rainbows. Surface water temperatures are in the mid to high 60’s and fishing is fair to good for quality 15 to 18 inch rainbow trout and fair to good for bass. With the spring stocking expect to also catch eight to 10 inch trout.  Bass fishing is picking up. Although not as common, anglers will be to catch Brown Trout and Tiger Trout in the lake.

Closed to fishing until July 15, 2022. The parking area at spooner has reopened which should make access to the trail and trailhead much easier this season. Fishing is expected to be great.

Stocking of several thousand channel catfish and white crappie along with half a million juvenile white bass has occurred in both Little Washoe Lake and Washoe Lake during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons. Expect slow fishing with some areas being more productive than others with low water. Carp can always be a good option in little washoe for anglers when the wind is down.

Fishing for both smallmouth and trout has been good at Wall this spring. Trout fishing along the shallow shoreline and near the inlet has been good with flies. The river is in excellent condition and fishing well. Flows are currently ideal but they can jump pretty quick with any high elevation rain or real heat. Roughly 600cfs in Reno makes for near prefect conditions on the lower river. This isn’t going to last so get out east before we see it heat up. From Reno West, anglers can expect some sporadic little yellow stones

We’re definitely near the end of the runoff season on the Carson. Flows have come down to about 500cfs on the East fork and just above 300cfs in Carson over the last few weeks and will continue to fall. Bright spinners, spoons, and plugs are fishing well in deeper pools and runs. Fly fisherman are using streamers and larger stonefly nymphs but should transition to
