Surface water temperatures are in the low 50’s

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Surface water temperatures are in the low 50’s and fishing continues to be good for trout. Nightcrawlers have been working though anglers have also been doing well using PowerBait. For fly rodders, this time of year chironomid patterns are recommended as they can make up as much as 80% of the trout’s diet in the spring in our high desert reservoirs. Black or olive wooly

Anglers will do well with a variety of night crawlers

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Surface water temperatures are still hovering around 50 degrees and fishing has been fair to good. Water levels continue to slowly improve. Anglers will do well with a variety of night crawlers, PowerBait, and spinners. For bait anglers nightcrawlers and rainbow PowerBait are the best bet. Small spinners, spoons and Kastmasters in gold for those throwing hardware should work. For fly rodders, this time of

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Stream flows have increased just a bit over the past week with the precipitation and snowmelt though they are still well below the median for this time of year. With the warmer weather expect flows to continue to increase. . The recent precipitation may make for some muddy driving conditions on the back roads. Topaz Lake Report

by DOUG BUSEY
Many of us have heard of the tragic accident, when a boat capsized on the lake last weekend. I cannot stress the importance of safety and life jackets while out on any body of water. Remember that this time of year. The outside temperatures may be in the 70's or 80's. But the water temperature was 47 degrees on my last trip to the lake.

The bite at Pyramid continues to be a little spotty this week with mixed reports of varied success

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The bite at Pyramid continues to be a little spotty this week with mixed reports of varied success. It appears to be mostly a stripping game at the moment and using a type 3 sinking line with buggers, boobies and beetles on beaches with a gradual drop off seems the most consistent. As we come into the tail end of the season out here the

We are starting to see a good mix of spring hatches happen

by TROUT CREEK OUTFITTERS
Right now the Truckee is still holding at around 1,000 CFS in the canyon section but the big change has come upstream along Glenshire Drive where flows have gone up to around 750 CFS thanks to heavy run off in the upstream creeks, primarily Donner Creek which is flowing at around 300 CFS near the confluence of the Truckee. This has added some turbidity to

We didn’t have much traffic on the ranch this week

by KENS SPORTING GOODS STAFF
We didn’t have much traffic on the ranch this week, it’s likely fishing similar to the California side of the river though. A couple patterns I’d add to the mix down there would be a dead drift crayfish and maybe a rubberleg.

Read Don Martin's recent article in the Kingman Daily Miner. Please note that after the article was published, the Lake Mead Recreation Area announced that the South Cove Ramp is now closed due to

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
The fishing just keeps getting better. That is along our shores of the Colorado river here below the Davis dam. Up on Lake Mohave the winds have been brutal and are keeping most at bay so to say. Which leads to not much to report from the lake. The marsh has been slow to have any reports as of yet. I am assuming the largemouth

Windy, but nice weather this week for the Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

by MATT KOLES
Windy, but nice weather this week for the Truckee River Fly Fishing Report. Always windy in the spring, but man, the weather has been about perfect. Nice big flows and some fat fish. People always ask me, when’s my favorite time, well, Spring is hard to beat. Of course, you can get skunked anytime of year on this river, but when the trees are all budding
