Fern Ridge Reservoir (or Fern Ridge Lake) is a reservoir on the Long Tom River.

Fern Ridge Reservoir, situated west of Eugene near Veneta, Oregon, stands as the largest flood control impoundment in the Willamette Valley. This expansive, shallow lake, meticulously managed by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), is preeminently recognized for its exceptional warmwater fishery.

The primary piscatorial pursuits are its robust populations of largemouth and smallmouth bass, providing excellent action within extensive submerged vegetation and varied habitats, alongside exceptionally prolific bluegill, crappie, brown bullhead catfish, and common carp. Angling techniques are diverse: a wide array of lures for bass, including weedless jigs; small jigs or bait for panfish; and bottom baits for catfish and carp. Fly anglers achieve success with poppers and streamers. Optimal warmwater fishing spans late spring through early fall, peaking in summer. Access is exemplary via multiple public boat ramps and extensive bank access, necessitating watercraft for comprehensive coverage. Regulations, meticulously managed by the ODFW, are dynamic; strict adherence to current directives concerning bag limits and gear restrictions is unequivocally paramount. Anglers must also consider significant seasonal water level fluctuations, inherent to its flood control function, which impact access.
