Pelican Lake - Randlett, UT

Pelican Lake, near Randlett in Utah’s Uinta Basin, is one of the state’s premier warmwater fisheries. Known for its outstanding bluegill and largemouth bass populations, the lake offers something unique in a state dominated by trout waters. Shallow and weedy, Pelican provides an ideal habitat for panfish and bass to thrive.

Fly anglers and light-tackle fishers flock here in the spring and summer. Bluegill are often taken on poppers and small nymphs, while largemouth bass hit topwater frogs, streamers, and plastic worms fished near cover. Sight fishing during the spring spawn is especially productive.

The lake spans over 2,700 acres and features a boat ramp, restrooms, and a fishing pier. Float tubes and kayaks are also commonly used to access weedy zones. Dense summer vegetation can challenge shore access, but that same cover produces excellent fishing.
