Electric Lake - Scofield, UT

Lake Information

Electric Lake near Scofield is a high-mountain reservoir offering consistent trout fishing year-round. At 8,600 feet, the 350-acre lake is stocked with rainbow and tiger trout and stays cool even in summer.

Rainbow trout average 10–16 inches and respond well to PowerBait, worms, or trolling setups like spoons and spinner rigs. Tiger trout grow larger and hit jigs, streamers, or large in-line spinners near structure.

Bank access is best near the dam and inlet, while boaters do well along drop-offs. Ice fishing is reliable when safe ice forms—typically mid-December through March. Mealworms and waxworms on small jigs are winter staples.

Electric Lake has vault toilets, primitive camping, and gravel ramps. Wind can be an issue after midday, so fish early for the best results.

With solid trout action, alpine views, and cold, clear water, Electric Lake remains a central Utah favorite for anglers who appreciate quiet, scenic surroundings and the chance at larger fish.
