Pyramid Lake is fishing well, but it can be very sensitive to the weather. It is best to look at conditions to determine when, how, and where to fish. A bit different this year has been that on nice days the fish are being more picky, stubborn, and lazy. We are moving into a time of year too where the water temperatures will rise and the numbers of fish caught daily should increase. Midges have been red hot! The 49er and other bright flies have been fishing the best. Set flies shallow under your indicator.

A lot of our strikes are shallower than 9 feet. With the majority coming around 6 feet under the indicator. On stormier/windier days the strip bite has still been very active with the usual suspects for flies (booby flies, beetles, dark buggers). There has been some annoying vegetation/algae on some of the popular stripping beaches, but this accumulation on vegetation usually only gets on your fly in the last 10-20 feet. Casting over the weed line and hooking fish makes cleaning our flies worth it.

Pyramid Lake Flies we Suggest: Holographic Midge (49er, Albino Wino), Pyramid Lake Fly Selection, Booby Fly (Spanish Olive, Cat Whisker, Deadpool and Dark lord), Pyramid Lake Beetle, Pyramid Lake Bugger (Midnight Cowboy and the Northern Lights)
