Trout and bass have been biting fairly well along the shoreline over the past week on various baits such as mice tails, power baits and night crawlers throughout the day along the rip rap in front of the bait shop and the canal by the entrance booth.

Bass have been biting drop shot style setups with night crawlers and roboworms and senkos hooked up either Texas or wacky rigged on rocky points and steeper banks.

Stripers have been easting fresh sardines and cut mackerel anywhere up to 60 feet deep around Chumash Island and Yellowbat areas. Some anglers have had luck trolling the lake using heavy jig heads with paddle tails or deeper diving jerk baits.

Catfish are also biting bait around the coves down deep pretty well using a heavy sinker to be able to manage the winds and water currents during the day.
