While Pyramid continues to see better and better days with regularity, we are still a few weeks out from those spring pre-spawn conditions we all look forward to every year. As of now, the stormier days are definitely the best days to be fishing out here, and the sunny, calm days are mostly still a grind. With that said, this weekend is going to be bright and sunny, and we would recommend focusing on the river Friday and Saturday, and chasing those storm conditions beginning Sunday, through early next week. These early spring days have made the midge out-fish the leech in most situations, but we have been still having success on the leech early mornings, late evenings, on very windy or choppy days, and when fishing very deep drop offs. In the coming weeks, the fish start to cruise into shallower beaches, and we will begin to switch gears and seek out the shallower more gradual drop offs, suspending a two midge set up or stripping streamers. But we aren’t quite there just yet. Until then, focusing on fishing out here when storms are present, and fishing hard in the early mornings is your best bet as afternoons are typically not as productive.

With the best fishing at this lake just around the corner, we are currently well stocked on all the gear to give you the best odds of landing that fish on a lifetime out here, as well as the knowledge of fly selection, rigging, beaches and all other aspects of this unique fishery. Between our entire staff we have logged more hours on this lake than any other fly shop that we can think of, and every employee here knows this lake intimately.  Stop in and get the latest before heading out!
