Trout catch rates are good to great during these spring months. We recommend using a piece of nightcrawler fished below a bobber, or trout dough bait fished off the bottom or behind a casting bubble. Lures (such as inline spinners, casting spoons and marabou jigs) and streamers (such as Pistol Pete flies, woolly buggers and leech patterns) can also be effective. Fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill will pick up as the water warms, especially in the afternoons. For bluegill, try fishing a small hook, tipped with a piece of worm, under a bobber. Casting and retrieving spinnerbaits and plastics and suspending crankbaits, parallel to shore, can be an effective way to catch largemouth bass.
