Stampede Reservoir continues to provide plenty of options for anglers this summer. Kokanee fishing remains consistent, with pink or orange hoochies behind dodgers producing fish 40 to 60 feet down near the Sagehen and Little Truckee inlets. Kokanee remain on the smaller side at around eight inches. Rainbow trout anglers are finding success trolling Rapalas, while shore anglers are catching fish near the dam with worms, PowerBait, and spinners. Smallmouth bass fishing is also good, particularly around the dam and rocky shorelines. With trout, kokanee, and bass all providing opportunities, Stampede remains a solid choice for anglers looking to target multiple species.
