Water temperatures are sitting at approximately 68F.  Spring stocking has been completed. Cave Lake has received 21,169 Rainbow Trout averaging 8.9 inches.  Anglers should expect to catch 8–11-inch Rainbow Trout and the occasional 9-inch Brown Trout.  There are still a few large 20-inch plus Brown Trout in the lake that have carried over since the draw down of the lake for dam repairs.  Anglers will catch trout on PowerBait, spinners, and nightcrawlers. Warm water temperatures are hard on trout, please consider fishing early in the morning and late in the evenings when surface temperatures are down to prevent angling related fish mortalities.
