As of 9/20/26, Wild Horse Reservoir remains under a HAB (Harmful Algal Bloom) Watch Advisory. For more information visit: nevadahabs.org. The boat dock has been removed for the season due to low water levels. The boat ramp is still in the water, but only 6 feet of the ramp remains beneath the surface. Water levels are down approximately 22 feet, however, water is no longer being pulled from the reservoir. Water temperatures are dropping, with temperatures around the State Park measuring around 60 degrees.
Rainbow trout, brown trout, tiger trout and wiper were stocked this spring. With cooler water temperatures, trout fishing should continue to pick up.
Bass fishing remains good, with fish hanging around rocky outcroppings and submerged vegetation. Wacky rig Senkos, flukes under a dropshot, and chatterbaits with trailers are some recommended set ups. As of July 1, anglers can keep 1 black bass and 1 wiper. Minimum size for black bass and wiper is 15 inches total length.
