Lake Tahoe Fish Report 05-10-07

What can I say , the Mackinaws are on a good bite. It seems like the lake is always doing good. Fish the point off of the Crystal Bay Club, It has been good for the jig bite. Trolling is good over in the Tahoe City area to Dollar Point. Try big Apex in the morning and go to sliver and blue later.

Topaz Lake Fish Report 05-10-07

Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): It was spitting snow and darn cold this last weekend. We had a group of 30 boat fishermen from Modesto and they were out there fishing and catching fish. Their biggest fish was 2-pounds, 8-ounces caught while trolling flasher blades and worms.

Good fishing for Trollers and bank fisherman. Trollers are using Repala's in brown and silver colors. Also some are catching trolling a Worm Harness. Bank fishermen have been successful using powerbait in orange color.

Cold weather has the flows down to 250 cfs. Great flows for fishing but the approaching warm weather should have the flows climbing again by the end of the week. North Shore:Gene St. Denis of Blue Ribbon Charters and Tahoe Trophy Trout at South Lake Tahoe, Calif. (530-544-6552): We have been trolling at all levels from 50 feet deep down to the bottom at 350 feet. We locate the fish on the fish finder and then troll in a "Figure Eight" pattern, right over them. I've been fishing at Cal-Neva, Dollar and Sugar Pine Points.

South Shore: Gene St. Denis: I've been fishing at Camp Richardson and Ski Run Shelf. Trolling at 45-60 feet at Camp Rich and then going deeper to 150-240 at Ski Run, with silver Herring Dodger flasher blades and live minnows. The Macks have been running up to 5-6 pounds.

TOPAZ LAKE: Diane at the Topaz Lake General Store: Tim Denver caught a 5.8 pound rainbow with a $100 tag. In addition, Wes Adams caught a 5.2 pound rainbow, Doug Douglas had a 4.9 pound rainbow and William Critser had a 3.4 pound rainbow.
