Trout Good

Has been fishing good for trout. It was stocked with 4,000 trout in March. Bass fishing should pick up with warmer weather.

Knot Creek Reservoir is located 2 hours Northwest of Winnemucca Nevada and about a 4 hour drive from Reno. The lake is well known by the locals for having some outstanding trout fishing. The road is in much better shape now and the fishing has been good. Fish are being caught on a variety of methods and flies. Sheep creek specials, black bird\\\\\\\'s nests, scuds and aggravators are all catching fish. Having a floating line, an intermediate line and a fast sinking line with improve your odds of catching fish.

Most reports indicate warm water temps and a lot of Algae. Seasoned fly fisherman are still catching fish with sinking lines. The Algae is only in the top 6 inches of the water column. Woolybuggers, Leaches, Sheep Creek Specials and Damsel Nymphs have been the most affective

Knott Creek Reservoir Sportfishing Report

Opened on June 14th. The fishing is awesome. The road is in good shape. There will be a lot of anglers there on weekends due to the fantastic fishing last year. Midges and Copper Johns fished under an indicator was great on the opener as well as Scuds, Sheep Creek Specials and Damsels fished with an intermediate line.
