Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

by JIM REID
The ranch is still hanging in there with some nice fish being caught on dark lords, buckskin caddis, z-wing caddis, dead drift crayfish and zuddlers. The water tends to be a few degrees cooler on the ranch due to some freshwater springs that feed the river on the ranch property so this seems to help keep some fish from leaving this section.

Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

by JIM REID
The ranch fished pretty well this week with several of the anglers on this section reporting 3 to 8 fish per half day, there are some smaller fish showing up lately but there are also some pushing the 22 inch mark. Dead drift crayfish, buckskin caddis and fox's poopah have been the best patterns down on the ranch lately.

Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

We haven't had any news back from the ranch this week, I'd expect the fishing to be similar to the California side but with fewer rainbows making a showing. Streamers and nymphs should still be the ticket down there, also this time of year drifting a crawfish pattern is usually a winner.

Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

by JIM REID
The Sceirine is still hanging in there as well, the same patterns that are working on the California side are also working well on the ranch. The fishing also isn't automatic, you'll have to get your drifts right and be on your game but if you work it you should be able to get into some very good fish.

We've had several clients on the ranch this week and the ones who were able to report back did pretty well down there. Most of the success was on streamers though we did have 2 clients do well with caddis nymphs and midges. The patterns listed above should also be good for the ranch, for the streamers bright colors are still the best.

We haven't had anyone on the ranch this past week until yesterday and unfortunately we were not able to get a report from them so far. If the previous week is any indication there should still be pretty good numbers of fish on the ranch and mostly the same streamers and nymphs as used on the Cali side should be working. We're getting into crayfish
