Elmer Bull of Yerington reported that the month of September is a good time to fish for bass with either rubber worms or spinner baits.

Dave Kirby: Max Fladby, age 10, of Valencia caught a stringer of rainbows on Salmon eggs on Sunday. Michael Johnson of Lakewood caught a 3.75 pound rainbow on Salmon eggs at Pickett's Junction.

Todd Sodaro and Chad Machado of the Carson River Resort (877-694-2229): Desiree Harnar, age 16, of Carson City caught a 5-pound, 12-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs, Sean Morgan of Stockton caught a 5-pound, 10-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs and Jason Tyra caught a 5-pound, 3-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs. We are staying open through the winter due to the year-round season on the section below

Lots of people are catching lots of White Bass. We encourage you to fish from a float tube due to the low water levels. The water is super low. Be careful if launching from the beaches. People have been getting stuck at Beach Nos. 4-6-8.

We got an 800 pound plant of rainbows last week from the state. This week, we are getting a 1,000 pound plant from Alpine County, which includes rainbows up to 10 pounds. Our biggest fish caught, so far this year, is 9.1 pounds. A couple of nights ago, I was casting Salmon eggs with my fly rod, and on 5 casts, I had 5 fish.

Boat ramps are a challenge due to low water conditions. The lake has many hazards with the low water conditions, boaters be careful. Although not large, 6 to 12 inches, the fish were abundant and hungry. Some walleye are still being caught. The water is still holding good and they are still planting fish. Here are some youngster who caught fish: Clairie and Michael Hiebert of San Jose with a 1.2 pound rainbow and a couple of pan sized on Salmon eggs, Gabrielle and Destiny Miles of El Hambra with 3 pan sized rainbows on Salmon eggs and Don Ellwaner of Sacramento with some pan sized fish

Fishing at Lahontan remains very good. Two anglers were checked Sunday fishing 6 hours and catching 31 white bass, 5 crappie and one largemouth bass.
