Carson River Fish Report 11-28-07

The Carson has not been fishing very well this year due to the flows but some anglers have had some luck near the broken dam in Gardnerville. Try using Casmasters in gold and if fly fishing try a gold ribbed hares ear or a prince nymph in size a 12 to 14.

Spooner Lake Fish Report 11-28-07

Tiger trout are showing up in numbers. Shore anglers have been reporting some action where they can find open water around the aquatic vegetation that chokes the shoreline. Try using white spoons or black and yellow Panther Martins. Local Fly angler Austin Willis reports fishing remains good on the fly using black leach patterns in sizes 6 and 8. The chironomid patterns are still successful

Fishing has slowed but remains good for walleye on the reservoir side of the dam as well as on the downstream side of the Pitt-Taylor Dam. Wiper fishing is sporadic and slow. Fishing has picked up according to Kari Wright Walker Lake Biologist. Anglers have reported loads of success for boaters using spoons in colors orange and white and silver and green. Fishing is decent at the Big Lake and there are some big fish being reported. Fish are being caught at many different locations around the lake. As the weather cools more and more big fish will start coming into the shallows in search of food. Keep moving around and trying new spots until you find an area populated with fish.
