Fishing has picked up according to Kari Wright Walker Lake Biologist. Anglers have reported loads of success for boaters using spoons in colors orange and white and silver and green. Try jigging the spoon as well as casting and trolling. Bank anglers using powerbait have seen little to no success. The State Park Boat ramp and the Sportsman Boat ramp both require 4x4 vehicles due

Fishing is decent at the Big Lake and there are some big fish being reported. Fish are being caught at many different locations around the lake. As the weather cools more and more big fish will start coming into the shallows in search of food. Keep moving around and trying new spots until you find an area populated with fish. The Truckee is still a good bet, but cooling weather means that your fishing methods must change. The key to catching fish is to fish slower, deeper water as the fish will move to these areas due to cooling water temperatures.
