Lake Mead Fish Report

Reports from Lake Mead have been quite varied this past week. Some anglers haven't had so much as a bite while others are bringing in striped bass on a consistent basis. Little pressure was seen on the area during the past week. There is thin ice on most of the reservoirs though there is still some open water. Conditions can change quickly with overnight freezes. NDOW recommends checking weather conditions before traveling to the area and using extreme caution when it comes to the ice.

The ice is three to four inches thick over much of the reservoir. Some intrepid anglers braved the ice near the fishing dock and pulled in a few rainbows using mealworms. Anglers have had moderate success while ice fishing on the reservoir. The ice depth is currently at about four inches but will continue to thicken as nighttime temperatures drop into the teens.
