The reservoir is nearly ice free. Anglers have been catching rainbow trout in the 10- 12-inch range. Both hardware and traditional baits are catching the fish. Green and orange PowerBait, marshmallows, and night crawlers have proven quite effective for anglers. So have lures. The campground and all facilities are open.

The water is free of ice and starting to rise. Anglers should expect some of the best trout fishing of the year. Trout are taking PowerBait in orange or green colorations. Spinners and spoons are good options for lure fishing anglers. The campgrounds and all facilities are open.

 Rainbow trout have been providing the best action along the river. Both shore and boat anglers are catching fish on worms, PowerBait and spinners. Black bass should become more active as water temperatures begin to climb. Anglers are already catching largemouth on silver spoons and anchovies near shelves in the coves. Stocked rainbows typically take a variety of baits and lures, but mealworms often work well this time of year. Catfish have been taking night crawlers at Sunset Park.

Despite rainy weather conditions anglers found good fishing over the weekend. Good striper action has been reported in the upper Government Wash and around Hemenway. The fish are showing a preference for shad-colored crankbaits but also are taking chrome jerkbaits and anchovies. Rain is expected for this coming weekend. Ice is thawing rapidly and too thin for ice fishing. Holes for fishing can be drilled along the dock along the dock.

Stocked rainbow trout are schooling up below Davis Dam and through Casino Row. The fish are biting on PowerBait, night crawlers, and spinners. Boaters and shore anglers are both catching fish. Anglers are reporting that stripers are biting on soft plastics and trout swimbaits below Davis Dam. With temperatures in the mid- high- 60’s largemouth bass should grow increasingly active in the vegetation near shore.

Crankbaits and plastics have been working for smallmouth bass at the south end of the lake. Look for bass hanging around boulder fields, off points and near habitat structures in well-developed coves. Striped bass have been showing up south of Willow Beach with anglers having success with trout imitations and anchovies.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife recently stocked trout in the ponds at Sunset, Lorenzi, and Veterans Memorial parks. Trout are taking PowerBait, small spinning lures and spoons. Silver varieties of lures are working the best. With temperatures beginning to warm up, catfish are becoming more active and have hit worms and stink baits.

Silver and green colored jerkbaits are fooling stripers around Kingman Wash and along drop-offs by the water in-take. Anglers are having a hard time finding shad near Government Wash but are finding success with anchovies fished off the bottom. Largemouth bass are still hard to find, but fishing should pick up when water temperatures increase.

Ice fishing remains good, but anglers should always verify conditions before venturing onto the ice. Rainbow trout have been taking night crawlers and a variety of PowerBait options.

 Anglers are still seeing ice along the edges. The water is starting to rise, which means ice conditions will vary by the day.  Fishing pressure has been minimal, but those who get out are catching rainbow trout using orange and chartreuse PowerBait. The campgrounds and all facilities are open.

Rainbow trout are providing most of the action on the river. Anglers fishing from boats and the shoreline are catching their 5-fish limits on PowerBait, night crawlers and spinners. Striper bites are hit and miss, but anglers have caught fish as large as 10 pounds on anchovies and trout swimbaits.

Reports of striper catches are coming in at both the north and south ends of the reservoir. Boaters have been most successful using X-Rap jerkbaits in shad and minnow patterns.
