Shoreline Anglers Are Catching Limits

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Shoreline anglers are catching the 5-fish limit of rainbow trout using jigs and worms. The striped bass bite is slow, but swimbaits and anchovies are producing a few catches in the deeper water. One lucky angler reeled in a 13-pound striper from his boat. Homemade stink baits and corn are working well for catfish in marshy areas.

Lake Mohave Fishing Report

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Winds kept many anglers off Lake Mohave over the weekend. Few reports have come in on the black bass bite, and striped bass fishing is hit and miss from shore. Boaters are reporting better success for stripers, as the fish are feeding around 50 feet or deeper. Trout swimbaits and umbrella jigs are working well for trollers. At Willow Beach, green and yellow PowerBait or

Hemenway and Callville Bay Are Hot Spots

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
The bulk of striper activity is taking place overnight and into the early morning hours. Hemenway and Callville Bay are hot spots for fish in the 1- to 3-pound range. Anglers are trolling a variety of shad-patterned lures or throwing anchovies from shore. Live shad can be found in abundance throughout the Boulder Basin. Black bass and sunfish activity remain slow. Catfish are taking anchovies

The Lake Has Been Fishing Well for Mid Winter

by RENO FLY FISHING OUTFITTERS
The lake has been fishing really well for mid-Winter/January. The water temperatures are at their winter lows around 42-43 degrees. This usually means, low fish totals and the occasional cruiser with plenty of days when you wonder if there are any fish in the lake at all. Pyramid will always kick out big fish no matter the season with the Pilot Peak strain of Lahontan

Truckee is Fishing Well For January

by RENO FLY FISHING OUTFITTERS
The Truckee is fishing really well for January. As usual, the Nevada side is easily the best. The flows are low due to the lack of storms and snowpack, but the river is in great shape. There is no anchor ice and access is great. You have to approach the river a little different than in the summer and fish are going to be in

Fishing on The Nevada Side Has Been Really Good Lately

by RENO FLY FISHING OUTFITTERS
Fishing on the Nevada side of the East Walker has been really good lately. The warmer weather we have had has freed the river from any anchor ice and access is great. Fish are active and happy. The water is really low at 20 CFS and is the only downside to fishing right now. The flows have remained at this level for weeks now and

Calm Before The Storm

by PYRAMID FLY CO.
This week we have that ugly high pressure rearing it’s head again, and it’s got all of us wondering when we are gonna get another storm system. These spring weather patterns in the dead of winter aren’t really the best fishing conditions. But as we slide into next week the pattern changes and we have some wind, clouds and low pressure on the horizon. All

by PYRAMID FLY CO.
As the high pressure slides out towards the end of the week the bite should pick up in a hurry. Big smiles and big fish are one of the many things Pyramid is known for. Pyramid Lake Guides Fishing Report

by PYRAMID LAKE GUIDES
More mild weather and good fishing! January is one of the most underrated months to fish Pyramid. The water temps can make the fishing inconsistent, but this year has been good so far, we even landed another 20 lber! We’ve had a mild winter on Pyramid Lake Nevada, which often means not great fishing, but not this season! The fishing has been good, with not too

Decent River Fishing on The Truckee

by MATT KOLES
Decent Winter fishing on the Truckee River. Be nice to get some storms rolling through. Mild weather now, maybe next week, fingers crossed. When I say decent, I mean, we’re getting some fish. I do a lot of streamer fishing, winter -spring. If you seize your moment and strip set, you’ll have a good day. If you don’t, you’ll think the fishing sucks, though you missed the

Ice Conditions Are Questionable

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Ice conditions are questionable at best. Recent weather activity that dropped some rain and snow has left road conditions muddy. Ice along the shorelines is thin. Visitors are encouraged to use extreme caution while visiting the area. No fishing reports were received this week.

Striper Bite Has Been Hit or Miss From Shore

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Shore anglers are catching 1-pound rainbow trout on PowerBait in a variety of colors. Look for trout hiding in underwater vegetation and near boulders, in small pools along the shoreline, or in other areas where the current is slower. The striper bite is hit and miss from the shorelines. Boaters have had moderate success with fish under 3 pounds using anchovies.

Lake Mohave Fishing Report

Willow Beach anglers are seeing rainbow trout activity throughout the day. Striper activity is slow. Boaters are having the best luck trolling trout swimbaits or casting into more remote coves. Further south, anglers are reporting the striped bass bite to be best at around 50 feet. Shad swimbaits are landing fish up to 9 pounds near the dam.

Forecast Showing A Good Fishing Weekend Ahead

by NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Miled temperatures and calmer winds in the forecast should result in a good fishing weekend. Striper anglers are finding the best fishing in the early mornings or overnight. Live shad are producing the best results, but anchovies or shad swimbaits are good alternatives. Boaters are finding abundant shad near Hemenway. Chartreuse colored soft plastics are drawing black bass out of their hiding spots in the

Riviera Marina Fishing Report

by RUSTY
Look where we live yep we have trout rainbow trout and a few stripped bass now and again. The great part about all of this is our trout bite here along the shores of The Colorado River below the Davis Dam. I am saying its thanks to the Willow Beach Hatchery we are able to go out for this super opportunity to catch trout. These

A Little Bump in Flows

by MATT KOLES
A little bump in flows. That’ll help things out a bit. Low and cold to, lowish and cold, on the Truckee River. Actually, this week we could see high’s in the 60’s in Reno. I’m not writing winter off, but this weather is disappointing. So, very clear and cold in the mornings and mild afternoons. I’m really hoping to see the heads pop up on the lower

Topaz Lake Opener Report

by DOUG BUSEY
Hello fellow anglers, as we welcomed in 2021, many anglers ascended on Topaz Lake to bring in the new year. I and fellow angler Tom Blotter were amongst  the many. At 6am Tom and I were on the lake waiting for the official start time. There was an eerie fog type mist lingering over the lake. It was a cool 18 degrees, and the winds
