Fishing remains good with adequate flows for several miles below Wildhorse Flows are being maintained through August and into September which will continue to result in good fishing into the fall. Water temperatures are cooling and there are still lots of grasshoppers out, so the hopper/dropper combo continues to be a good choice for fly anglers.

The Carson is down to typical fall levels and fishing well. Small spinners seem to be the best bet for the remining planters around broken dam. Fly fisherman are finding a few trout on small streamers and small nymphs on light tippets. Some surface activity has been reported early an late in the day.

Spin fisherman using bright spinners and small spoons are finding fish in water with a little depth. Fly fisherman with larger streamers in the deeper runs have been just as effective as the spinners. Tight line nymphing has been deadly with mayfly imitations. Hoppers

Our visiting anglers, Les Kern and Steve Berczik, were trolling near the power lines on the Nevada side and landed some impressive stripers. The larger striper weighed 9.5 pounds and measured 29.5 inches, while the other was 8.02 pounds and 27.5 inches.
