The water level at Illipah Reservoir is still in good shape. Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s.  With warmer water temperatures anglers are encouraged to fish the early morning and evening hours to reduce stress on trout.  Anglers should do well on nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spinners and wet flies behind a water bubble.  Flyfishers will do well with matching the hatch and throwing

Fishing has really picked up at Rye Patch!

The heat is here and fishing has really picked up at Rye Patch. The abundant water over the last two years has helped significantly improve the overall health of this fishery. Fishing has been fair to good for trout. Stocked fish include rainbow, tiger and brown trout. Fish are averaging 14 to 20 inches, with plenty of opportunity for fish over 20 inches. The road to Angel Lake is open all the way to the top. Anglers are having luck throwing green PowerBait and small trout spinners off the dam. Fly anglers paddling float tubes or kayaks near the rock walls are catching trout on small ant and leech patterns.

South Fork Reservoir Updates

Water is starting to turn a little green, but the big algae bloom hasn’t happened yet. Trout of good size are still being caught from shore, but boaters are tending to have better luck in deeper water. Bass are hitting off weedy points and in the coves.
