Not many reports back from Blue this season. Fishing well and should continue unless we see some significant weather changes. Fly fisherman using nymphs with peacock bodies catch fish most of the day slowly retrieved or under the indicator. Terrestrial insects fish well up at Blue, ants and beetle patterns are some of the best for searching all day on the surface.

Fishing for walleye, crappie, channel catfish and wipers is typically fair through summer at Chimney. Tiger Muskie have been stocked in the lake but have not begun to show up in significant numbers.

Knott Creek has been slow to rebound from the last few years

Knott Creek has been slow to rebound from the last few years of low warm water. Fish have averaged 14” and catch rates have been fair. We could definitely use a nice wet winter at Knott to help improve the general health. Fly fisherman using small dark leech patterns and peacock body nymphs behind sinking lines or deep under indicators are having good days.

Great fishing can be found at Onion. Heat hasn’t slowed down the fishing much yet making limits common. Trout are averaging 12-14” with a few holdovers pushing 16”.
