The flows on the Truckee have been steadily dropping and in just a week it has come down nearly 400 CFS throughout the entire California side of the river. We haven’t seen this affect the fishing negatively, and in fact, the fishing has been seemingly better as water temps rise into these trout’s ideal range, increasing their activity during all points in the day. HAPPY FRIDAY! Rainbow Trout are on the move. About 1,929 trout splashed into the Colorado River at the Willow Beach Marina this morning. That’s 1,066 pounds of fishing pleasure. #TakeMeFishing

Our weather is cooperating and so is the fishing. We are getting a fairly great striper bite with the shore anglers having the best of luck. It has been a bit of a hit and a lot of misses but with some persistence and a little luck anglers are able to bring in a few stripers in the 2 to 7 pound range. Our local angler

The ranch fished mostly like the rest of the river this past week with most anglers reporting just a few fish for a half day but nice fish in the upper teens and low 20’s being caught. Nymphs were the best option for flies, still not much on streamers lately.

The lake level is holding, and the fishing has been good to fair. I fished last week with Renee (my better half).
