The Colorado River below Davis Dam is producing some nice fish right now. Most of the action has been with smaller stripers, which tend to get to the bait first. But there are still some big ones out there! The Truckee River flow has dropped since our last report but remains fishing well. The Reno gauge is about 350CFS. This is a typical drop for this time of year as the Water Master is adjusting for seasonal conditions and lower demands. The trout are still feeding in fast moving water. Drop shot techniques have been very effective to get your flies near the bottom quickly.

The flows on the Truckee have dropped around 100 CFS at the Farad gauge. As of today, this section of river is sitting at 550 CFS, which is just a bit above average for this time of year. While the water temps have dropped along the entire Truckee, we are still seeing warm water along Glenshire Drive in the late evenings. Down in the canyon, anglers can fish all day right now, with water temps peaking around 65 degrees by 5:00pm. We have noticed a decline in activity towards that late afternoon window, however, and the best fishing will still be in that morning
