East Carson murky, West is clear

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Afternoon thunderstorms have made the East Carson murky, but bait fishing in the morning has been decent. There may be a trout plant next week. Creekside Lodge (530) 694-2511. Carson Valley Resort (877-694-2229)

Sceirine Ranch Report

by JIM REID
The ranch is still hanging in there though some anglers are reporting having to change flies multiple times before figuring out what the fish want to eat. As with the Cali side you'll need to be stealthy and try not to spook fish before you have a chance to run a fly by them a few times. There are some smaller fish being caught but

East Carson clear

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Water has cleared in the East Fork and trout bite is solid on both the east and west forks of the Carson. Creekside Lodge (530) 694-2511

Sceirine Ranch Report

by JIM REID
The ranch has fished about the same as the lower Cali section and the Rosachi this past week, most anglers are reporting 2 to 5 fish per half day with most of them being over 17 inches or so. Add to the list of flies above some stonefly nymphs and you'll be set.

Carson forks well stocked

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Alpine County Fish & Game planted trout last Wednesday. Both the east and west forks received 900 pounds of fish. West is fishing well. East has been muddy due to daily rain. Creekside Lodge (530) 694-2511

Time to give Truckee a break

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Weather this week is going to be unseasonably warm with daytime temps getting close to 90 degrees! Flows have dropped considerably and water temps have spiked to almost 70-74 during the latter part of the day now. This is just the beginning of summer and the outlook could be grim if the river doesn't get a bump in flow from the local reservoirs.

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID
We've had several clients on the ranch this week but unfortunately they haven't been able to return with any reports. Typically the water temps are a few degrees cooler on the ranch so this should make the fishing as good as or better than the warmer parts of the river. Still lots of caddis down there as well as pmd's, bwo's and even a few

Fire bedevils Carson River area

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
East Fork is closed to anglers because of a wild fire. West Fork is open but fishing is poor. Creekside Lodge (530) 694-2511.

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

by JIM REID
The Sceirine is still fishing well also. The water temps are a little lower on the ranch due to several springs that enter the river on the property. Patterns to take to the ranch are the same as the ones listed above.

Truckee low and warm

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Flows have dropped considerably and water temps have spiked to almost 68-70 during the latter part of the day now. This is just the beginning of summer and the outlook could be grim if the river doesn't get a bump in flow from the local reservoirs. Even 50 cfs would be something. I would only fish in the AM now but if

The anglers we've had on the ranch this past week have done really well, sounds like the fox's poopah in tan is the go too fly right now. There's also been some good action on chubby chernobyl's, madam x's, rainbow warrior, buckskin caddis and san juan worms.

Truckee getting warmer

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
Flows have dropped even lower above the Boca outflow and flows below the Boca outflow have dropped! Water temps have gone up to about 60 degrees now! We may have only a few weeks left for the river above the Boca outflow unless a release of water from Donner happens. Nice weather for the week with temps in the 60's with

East Carson a solid bet

by NOR CAL FISH REPORTS
East Carson has been producing quite well in between Hangman’s Bridge and the Upper Bridge. Markleeville Creek has been worthwhile. West Carson is slow. Creekside Lodge (530) 694-2511

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

We didn't have any anglers on the ranch this week, give us a call if you want to have some private water all to yourself!
