Water Level Has Gone Down A Little

TOPAZ LAKE: The water has gone down a little, but the fishing has been fair for anglers going a little deeper with flashers and a night crawler or Rapalas. Shore anglers have been doing fair with powerbai t in the deeper areas. Here again, make sure you bring your sunscreen. The afternoon temps are looking into over 100 degrees.

4 Species on Tahoe Today

            Well today started of only boating 3 of 11 hookups early. Never got out of the hole. Lost some gear. We did get 4 species as at the end we made completely different shift and boated a nice brown immediately followed up by bigger Rainbow!     Back at it tomorrow!

Bobber Placement is Everything

Bobber placement is everything. Limits plus today. Got absolutely schooled by big fish today.  The ones that nipped and missed or fell in net or just flat out gulped. River Flows Are Prime For This Time of Year

Reports of small macs trolling in deep water. Any cooler temperatures will help bring fish up over the next six weeks. Shore anglers are using small spinners for planted trout and larger spoons for larger rainbows and browns around boulders or other structure.  The Cave Rock area was stocked with nearly 4k rainbow trout recently. 

Topaz Has Been Fishing Well

Topaz has been fishing well, shore anglers with powerbait and boaters trolling flash rigs are doing the best. Crawlers off the bottom have also been productive early and late in the day. Finding the deeper water has been key. Fishing for trout should remain good and productive through fall.

Had blast yesterday. It started slower than it had previously but got hot and at the end came up with 3 species. Macks , bows and this year I have caught more 1-3 lb mountain whitefish than I have in years. Since my childhood!

Fish Moving into Deeper Water
