Anglers fishing 150 to 250 feet of water have had the most success with a dodger blade followed by a live minnow. Top lining has been hot and cold, a few browns in

Trout are in deeper water. Start at 20 feet and be ready to go deeper. Trollers use black/gold, perch or rainbow CD-7 Rapalas. Shore fishing is less productive but it’s best on the north shore early and then on south shore later. (775) 266-3550

Mackinaw fishing is very good. Fish are being found deep (200 to 300 feet deep) because of clear skies. Shrimp are congregating at underwater springs and so are the macks. Good spots have been CalNeva Point, Dollar Point and Sugar Pine Point. Limits of four to eight pounds are routine. Small fish have been scarce. Toplining has been so-so.  Shore anglers at Cave Rock get

Wow what a crazy derby so far not many fish coming in to be weighed. I did not do a report last week because there wasn't much to report on. I hear a lot of complaints from our customers. I have been told that anglers are catching fish just not sizeable ones. I have also been told that because there was

The lake opens to fishing on Jan. 1. Launching will be no problem and there was aggressive trout planting in the fall. Barring any unforeseen storm the opener should be good. There is a lot of bank access, too. A derby will be run from Topaz Lodge to celebrate the opener. (775) 266-3550
