Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

by JIM REID
The ranch is fishing excellent, of course the ranch section doesn’t get nearly as much pressure as the rest of the river so if you’re interested in some water that you can have to yourself give is a call and we can get you on the calendar. The flies that have been working on the California section have also been working well on the Sceirine.

The Ranch is still fishing just as good as the rest of the river, just not as crowded! They are still taking some stonefly nymphs both on the bottom and dropped from a dry. Like the other sections of the river the Ranch has kicked out some fish in the mid 20’s as well as lots in the high teens. In addition to the flies

Lots of patterns working down there including stonefly nymphs, rainbow warrior, prince, pheasant tail, dark lord, micro mayfly, zuddler, sculpzilla, etc. With the great flows and the great weather the ranch is starting to book out in advance a little bit so if you want some time on this water give us a call

Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

Lots of flies working on the ranch as well with some of them being red san juans, pheasant tails, flashback pheasant tails, poxyback stones, micro stones, rainbow warriors, split cased BWO’s etc. We’re starting to get quite a few bookings from the ranch so if you

Sceirine Ranch Fishing Report

We had one client on the ranch this week and he reported a stellar day for both rainbows and browns with some of the fish going over 20 inches. Pink San Juan’s and micro stones were the main staple of the day though you should be able to pick up some fish down there on prince nymphs, pheasant tails, copper johns, brassies and the like. Give

We had one client on the Sceirine this week and he reported having a very good day! Most of his fish were caught on stonefly nymphs, all were rainbows in the 13 to 18 inch range. The browns were a bit shy on this day but plenty of action with the bows!

We didn’t get any reports from the ranch this week but with the warmer weather and lower flows it should be fishing great, there are still some stoneflies hatching so you can throw some stonefly nymphs in your fly box to cover that. Give us a call if you want to book some time on the ranch.

We did have one client on the ranch this week and he had a pretty good day, mostly rainbows and a couple browns. Fishing streamers did not produce any fish but nymphing was the key. WD-40’s were the best. You could also try zebra midges, san juan worms and flashback emergers.

Lahontan Reservoir Report

by NDOW
With the incredibly wet winter the Nevada Department of Wildlife was able to stock trout at Lahontan Reservoir for the first time in over 20 years. In June 5,500 rainbow trout were stocked on the Churchill County side of the reservoir. Lahontan fish populations were hit particularly hard by the prolonged drought and these trout will give anglers another thing to look forward to this

East Walker River, NV Report

by NDOW
East Walker Flow is currently at 75 cfs. Fishing has been good even with the extremely low temperatures.  The high water this last winter and spring has really cleaned out the river, pushing a good portion of the mud and sand downstream. Recent electroshocking efforts have shown solid trout populations from the Elbow upstream.  Fly Fisherman are doing well with small mayfly nymphs; Copper John’s, Micro Mayflies,

We had a couple great reports from the Ranch this past week, too many hook-ups to keep track of is what we were told! As long as the weather holds out it should stay great down there! Nymphing was the rule this past week with stoneflies, san juan worms, copper johns and the like! Give us a call if you want to book some time!

Sceirine Ranch Fish Report

The ranch is fishing very well lately with most anglers reporting good numbers of fish with some 18 to 22 inchers thrown into the mix. Streamers seem to be the best bet down here and there’s been some nice fish caught on nymphs as well. The same patterns that have been working on the California side of the river are good to use on the
