Elmer Bull reported: Saturday afternoon, there was only one fisherman. I think that all of the high school graduations kept everyone at home for the weekend.

Todd Sodaro and Chad Machado of the Carson River Resort (877-694-2229): Fishing was spectacular over the weekend. The state and county both stocked 1,000 pounds of rainbows. Girish Pandit, Production/Operations Manager for the Nevada Appeal, caught 4 rainbows on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday. He was using a small white plastic grub with a tail.

Dave Kirby: On Sunday, Julian Martin of Carson City caught a 5-pound rainbow on a No. 16 Scud fly.

Flows are around 220 CFS. The East Carson is fishing really good and will only get better over the next month or so. Look for Grey Drakes and Caddis in the evenings. Nymphing with small bead head nymphs in the mornings has been effective as well.

Dave Kirby: There are lots of fish, right now, and not a lot of fishermen. I saw plenty of fish in the holes on Saturday afternoon. There will be a plant of big fish on Wednesday, June 6, by Alpine County. Those large rainbows come from that private hatchery up by Susanville.

One 'Oh oh' right after another at Lahontan Reservoir

Don Hettrick and Don Quilici of Carson City plus Rich Bachle of Fernley trolled last Thursday morning. They caught and released more than 100 White Bass, 4 Sacramento Perch, 1 Walleye and 1 Carp. They were using flasher blades with various lures that resembled small fish.

Flows are fluctuating between 400 and 500 cfs. Fluctuations are vey typical for this time of year due to run-off. As the peaks and the valleys of the fluctuations start to get closer together the fishing really takes off. Joshua Hammitt, age 6, of Galt, Calif. caught a 4-pounder and a 3.2 pounder. His sister, Victoria, age 8, caught a 4.9 pounder. Their fish were caught on nightcrawlers on May 27. Dave Kirby: The river had a plant of 1,000 pounds of rainbows on Wednesday by Alpine County. There were lots of people at every hole where they planted. Those holes are probably fished out by now.

Missy at Burke's Market at Silver Springs (775-577-2750): I'm estimating that there were 20,000 people. There were huge crowds everywhere. Lots of people were fishing and the fishing was awesome, especially on Monday. Lots of Wipers. There was a Channel Catfish over 30 inches long and a Largemouth Bass that was 2.5 pounds.

Largemouth Bass fishing is still very good. They are using plastic or rubber worms, both from shore and float tubes. One angler was even catching them with a rubber frog.?Į?Į

Largemouth Bass fishing is very good right now. One fisherman caught and released 30 bass in 2 hours on Saturday morning. Another fisherman did very well late Saturday and late Sunday. They are using plastic or rubber worms, both from shore and float tubes. There has been good fishing off the bank by the dike. The largest bass was a 5.5 pounder. ?Į
