Very good fly fishing on the Truckee River. Flows are high, temps are cool, and fish are active.  This is how it should be in June. Not that hot, bigger flows, and happy fish. We'll get our heat, and the flows will drop, and you'll need to stop fishing when the water temps get warm, but right now, ain't none of that. Nymphng will get them always,

The entire Truckee river is fishing well right now, from Highway 89 all the way down through Reno! With minimal releases out of Lake Tahoe still, the uppermost sections of the Truckee will be a bit low and slow, but by the time you get down past the resorts, you will start to see much more good fishable water. The Truckee River is flowing between 800-950cfs at the Reno gauge. Despite the somewhat high flows, fishing has picked up significantly in the last week. Water temperatures are increasing, peaking in the high 50s to low 60s in the afternoon. We are beginning to see multiple hatches of our favorite summer bugs. Ash Canyon Road to Hobart Reservoir is now OPEN for the season! The warm days on the Truckee have made flows trend upwards, but not really to the point of it hindering the fishing. In fact, as mentioned above, the weather has made the bugs go nuts, and we are getting more topwater eats this week than we have in the last few months. The most exciting of these newly emerging bugs, in our opinion, is the
