Lake Tahoe Update

Fishing has been great when the wind is not blowing you off the lake. Best areas have been Cal/ Neva and the north shore. Flashers and a live minnow have been most productive in 130 to 220 feet of water. Average mackinaw has been 2-5 pounds with a few in the 8-10 pound class. Topaz Lake Fish Report

A fellow angler fished the lake last week and caught 2 rainbows ranging from 15-17 inches long. He was using Rapalas in the middle of the lake. Topaz Lake is now the highest it's been in over 4 years. I expect it to reach 2012 levels, easily in the next 2 weeks. The bass are starting to show up, buggers, dead drift cray fish. Pyramid Lake Closes Soon
