Weekend fishing was very good. There were 12 fish larger than 10 pounds. The biggest was 23.8 caught by Donnie Ross of Reno. Most of the fish are coming from fly fishers along the shore. Crosby’s Lodge (775) 476-0400

Fishing picked up this week. Big fish of the week came from Kris Mickelson of Reno with a 21 pound, 5.6 ounce cutt. Two 18 pound catches also were weighed in. Last weekend’s fishing was productive. A 21.56 pounder was caught Tuesday by a shore angler. Dago Bay kicked out a pair of 10-pound plus fish over the weekend. Bite has been good all over the lake, although a bit slower than the opening weeks. Jig bite hasn’t been as good as it has been. Trolling, casting spoons and fly fishing bring steady results. Fish are pretty concentrated now and everyone should put in the back of their minds what the river looks like now. Take a careful look at structure that is now out or partly out of the water for a reference later when the water does come up. Very little water coming out of Tahoe and very little water coming out of the dam at Boca.

Pyramid Lake is now open. Early reports from opening day were pretty mixed. The surface water temperature is still in the low to mid 60's. This is fairly warm going into the season. Boaters did the best trolling in 10-30 feet of water on the West side of the lake. Shore anglers are going to have to deal with weeds for a few more weeks

The river got a little boost from last week's rain but that only lasted a day or two. The flows have dropped drastically again as of September 30th. Last week's report has not changed much.
