It was a normal February at Pyramid. The average catch rate was 4.6 hours per fish (boat= 4.0, shore= 5.5). However, things are picking up in March. Last weekend the catch rate was 2.2 hours/fish (boat= 2.6, shore= 1.9), which was better than the previous weekend; 2.4 hours/fish (boat= 4.3. shore= 1.7). Good dry fly action in the afternoon on the Little Truckee. Big Truckee is cold. Water temps are in the low 40s and trout are lethargic. The Nevada side is much more productive. Lake remains low. Main launch is unavailable. Boats aren’t available to rent because of low water. Lake hasn’t risen two feet since last July and won’t rise any more.
