Lake remains low. Main launch is unavailable. Boats aren’t available to rent because of low water. Lake hasn’t risen two feet since last July and won’t rise any more. The biggest trout of the season, a 25.25 pound cutthroat was landed Wednesday by Peter Thompson of Reno who landed the fish from shore at Rawhide with a wooly bugger. A 23.8 pounder was caught Tuesday at the nets by Brad Bugica, who was using a black jig. President’s Day Derby was a success. Anglers checked in 43 fish and 24 were larger than 10

Cold as hell. We've barely managed to make it out of the teens for highs all week here on the Truckee River in the great Truckee-Tahoe-Reno area. -20 last night here in Hirschdale.
