The East Carson will be affected by the rains more than any of the other area rivers. The flows have gone from 42 CFS to 108 CFS in the last couple of days. Look for them to keep going up for a few more days and then hopefully settle out next week. As the flows start to come back down the water should clear up

Kokanee are turning color. Jigging in 75 to 85 feet below the surface offshore from Taylor Creek attracts good numbers of kokes15 to 17 inches, but there are larger fish. Kokanee fishing is very good in the southwest portion of the lake. Find them 75 to 85 feet deep. Some are turning red. Lake trout are taking 3-1/2 ounce jigs from 120 to 160 feet deep in front of the South Shore Casinos, Camp Richardson and Emerald Bay. Most are three to six pounds but some are much larger.
