Flows remain outstanding from the town of Truckee to Reno. Air temps are starting to come down and the water temps as well. The bug activity is starting to pick back up and the fish are coming alive. Flows are down to 36 CFS. It is starting to get really low and clear. The fish are spooky and hard to catch. For best results fish the deeper pools and wear camoflage type clothing. When the East Carson gets this low it is very important to be stealthy. Hopper Dropper set - ups are the way to go here as well.

Flows are 134 cfs. Flows are dropping daily. It got a boost from a rain storm a few days ago but it is now dropping again. Nymphing has been very effective in the mornings and evenings. Golden Stones, Tricos, Caddis and Little Yellow Stones are in the system right now. Dry dropper techniques are also worth shot.

Bugs are out in force. The evening hatches are prolific right now. Caddis and Little Yellow Stones are the main two with a few PMD's, Green Drakes and Stone flies as well. The evening fishing on the Truckee is as good as it gets right now. There are Caddis, Little Yellow Stones and PMD'S hatching everywhere the last two hours of the day. Flows are still in the 700 cfs range. If you look at the flow chart the water is still going up and down about 100 cfs a day. It is probably fish able but with so much else to do wait another week or so to hit the East Carson.

Knott Creek Reservoir Sportfishing Report

Opened on June 14th. The fishing is awesome. The road is in good shape. There will be a lot of anglers there on weekends due to the fantastic fishing last year. Midges and Copper Johns fished under an indicator was great on the opener as well as Scuds, Sheep Creek Specials and Damsels fished with an intermediate line.
