Boat fishermen going deep have reported fair to good success on rainbow and brown trout. Although fishing has slowed, shore anglers have reported some success in the early morning.

Shore anglers have been reporting some action where they can find open water around the aquatic vegetation that chokes the shoreline. Try using white spoons or black and yellow Panther Martins. Catnip Reservoir Fish Report 09-18-07

Dave Patula Western, Western Region Game Warden, reports good fishing as of 9/17/07 at Catnip with a couple of fly angler catching some fish over 20 inches. Most fish where reported in the 12 inch but still good steady action throughout the day. Thing should pick up as the temperatures drop. Closes November 15.

North Shore Lake Tahoe Fish Report 09-13-07

We have been trolling 80-240 feet deep. We locate the fish on the fish finder and then troll in a "Figure Eight" pattern, bouncing the bottom hard. I've been fishing at the Tahoe City Shelf and Cal-Neva. We are getting 1-9 Mackinaw per trip. Last week, we had 6 fish that were between 10 and 16 pounds.

New regulations at Pyramid Lake

These changes for Pyramid Lake have been approved by the Tribal Council and they will become on effective Oct. 1: All permit fees will remain the same. All fishing hooks used must be barbless. Fishermen can crimp their barbs to comply. Downriggers are still allowed. The area from the Sutcliffe Marina to the end of the South Nets will be closed to fishing from March 15 to May 16

Dave Kirby: Max Fladby, age 10, of Valencia caught a stringer of rainbows on Salmon eggs on Sunday. Michael Johnson of Lakewood caught a 3.75 pound rainbow on Salmon eggs at Pickett's Junction.

Todd Sodaro and Chad Machado of the Carson River Resort (877-694-2229): Desiree Harnar, age 16, of Carson City caught a 5-pound, 12-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs, Sean Morgan of Stockton caught a 5-pound, 10-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs and Jason Tyra caught a 5-pound, 3-ounce rainbow on Salmon eggs. Lots of people are catching lots of White Bass. We encourage you to fish from a float tube due to the low water levels. The water is super low. Be careful if launching from the beaches. People have been getting stuck at Beach Nos. 4-6-8.
