Western Nevada Fish Reports

Flows are excellent and fishing has been great. The river is around 300cfs and has stable for some time now. There has been a few reports of stocked Lahontan Cutthroat around the parks in town and west of town. The lake level has been going down about a foot or so each week. Fishing for trout has been slow. But the smallmouth fishing has been productive.

Things are really starting to get good on the Truckee River. It's that time of year. Getting progressively colder, and trouts eating progressively more. Fall.  Flows are pretty great for this time of year. Great wading flows. Little skinny on the raft, but manageable.  Nymphing will still get you the most fish. Small mayfly patterns, smaller stones, smaller crayfish patterns. Keep in eye for fish looking up

The Truckee River is currently flowing out of Lake Tahoe at a rate of 140 CFS. As fall arrives, water temperatures will decrease, especially at night. In the town of Truckee, the flow is at 124 CFS, and it increases below Donner Creek to 227 CFS. Further downriver, the lower Truckee River is flowing at 454 CFS.
